Delete staff members

If you have appropriate permissions, you can remove staff from Onvio or mark them as inactive.

Before you start

You can't delete staff if they are attached to other information, such as time and billing entries. In that case, we recommend you mark the staff member as inactive.

An inactive staff member doesn't have Onvio access and can't be assigned to future projects, tasks, or bills. Marking a staff member inactive does not remove the staff member from any of their current assignments.

After deleting or marking a staff member as inactive, your firm's admin will also want to remove the user from My Account.

Delete staff from Onvio

  1. In Onvio Center, choose Setup, then Staff.
  2. Select the staff member.
  3. Select Delete.

Mark staff as inactive

  1. In Onvio Center, choose Setup, then Staff.
  2. Select the staff member and select Edit.
  3. On the General tab, scroll to the bottom and select Inactive.
  4. Save your changes.

Note: Changing the status back to active does not restore Onvio access to the staff member — you must enable Onvio access manually.

Remove staff from My Account

  1. Sign in to My Account.
  2. Select Manage Accounts.

    Note: Only a firm admin can access Manage Accounts to add, modify, or delete staff.

  3. Select the staff member.
  4. Scroll to the bottom and choose Delete Selected.
Note: Instead of deleting the user you can Modify the staff member and change their Permissions to Web Only. This will limit the staff member's access to software.
