Create e-files, PDFs, or Onvio copies of tax returns

After finishing data entry and review, you can file a return by generating an efile, creating a PDF copy, or sending a copy to Onvio Documents or Client Center. To do so, complete these steps.

  1. In Onvio Tax, open the project containing the tax return you want to file.
  2. Click the File Return tab.
  3. Select the return(s) you want to file by marking the corresponding checkboxes in the Returns list on the left.

    Note: You can designate a return as paper-filed by clicking Actions and then selecting Mark as paper filed in the Returns list.

  4. In the Generate section, mark the appropriate checkboxes (eFiles, Assembly profile, or Invoice) to designate the files you want to create. You can mark more than one checkbox.
    • Mark eFiles to create electronic files for the selected returns and prepare them for submission to the appropriate taxing agency.
    • Mark Assembly profile to create a copy of the return in Portable Document Format (PDF) or to send the selected returns to Onvio Documents or Onvio Client Center. The destination depends on the settings for the selected profile.
  5. Click the Generate button to create the files you selected using the checkboxes in this pane.
