Custom fields

You can create custom fields in Onvio to gather any additional information about your clients that you want to track. Once you set them up, these fields appear on a Custom Fields tab in the Clients setup screen.

You can organize custom fields into groups, and each group can be visible to all clients, only to clients that are individuals, or only to clients that are businesses.

  1. Choose Setup > Custom Fields to open the Client Custom Fields setup screen.
  2. To create a new group of custom fields, click the Add new group link and choose the audience (All Clients, All Individuals, or All Businesses). You'll need to give the group a name.
  3. Click the Add New button to add a new custom field. Onvio will prompt you to choose the type of field you want to create.
    • textbox — a free text field
    • date — a date field for selecting one specific date
    • number — a numeric field
    • checkbox — a box that you can mark or leave empty
    • list — a drop-down list with predefined options, from which the user makes a single choice
  4. Enter a label for the field. For list fields, enter labels for each option that should appear in the drop-down list.
  5. Click Save to save the custom fields.
