Add a new Family plan

A family plan is a type of plan that allows you to analyze how the investment income of minor children will affect the parents' and the entire family's total tax liability. It focuses on a single year and includes one column per child plus one for the parents.

When you need to assign a project that doesn't exist yet, you can select Add Project at the top of the list of existing projects.

  1. In Onvio Center go to the Projects
  2. Select Add and choose Project.
  3. In the Project Template field, choose an existing template or select  Add Project Template to create a new one. [[update link to use the new help topic “Create Advisory Planner project templates”]]

    Note: The Application must be set to Advisory and the Type set to Advisory Planner to create Advisory Planner projects.

  4. Select Save & Openwhen you're finished.
  5. In the New plan dialog that opens, enter the tax year you wish to analyze and select Family.
  6. Enter the number or children in the family and their names. Click the Next button to continue.
  7. Enter a description for the plan and add states if desired.
  8. Click the Create plan button to open the new plan.
Note: You can update an existing plan to Family by selecting Edit plan > Family from the plan menu bar and entering the children's detail.
