VAT periods on projects

If you have a VAT license, you can now do the following.

  • Store VAT periods which are synchronised with HMRC obligations.
  • Create projects based on these stored VAT periods.
  • Allow clients to have accounting periods that are different from their VAT periods.
  • Allow your firm to plan VAT submissions based on due dates.

Ask a client to authorise you to act on their behalf

If your agent ARN is authorised for Onvio, you can use Onvio to obtain the authorisation link you need to email to your client.

Register your firm as an agent with  HMRC

 Register your firm as an agent with HMRC.

Set up permission groups for VAT users

 Set up your firm's permission groups for VAT and assign the relevant staff users. 

Set up clients for E-Signing

 Assign an individual to receive documents for E-Signing and invite them to register for [[client-portal]].

Import VAT project templates

 Default templates are available to import for creating VAT projects.

Set up a VAT scheme

 Set up the VAT scheme applicable for the client. This is for information purposes and is not mandatory.

Create VAT projects

 Set up VAT projects for your clients using the pre-defined VAT project templates.

Submit VAT returns

 Upload a spreadsheet and enter your data to submit a VAT return to HMRC. [[product-name]] VAT provides you with a Microsoft Excel template you can use to enter your return data.

 Query your client's VAT returns to see the history of submitted and fulfilled returns, liability history, and payment history.
